Prices
One lesson lasts 35 Minutes. If you want your lessons to be of a different length we can work that out.
- Trial lessons. Before committing to monthly bookings, both me and students must see whether we are a good fit for each other. A trial lesson for the school level costs 50€ and a trial lesson for the university level costs 70€.
- Monthly bookings. Monthly bookings for the school level with one lesson per week cost 195€. Monthly bookings for the school level with two lessons per week cost 395€. Monthly bookings for the university level with one weekly lesson cost 275€. Monthly bookings for the university level with two lessons per week cost 545€. Upon request, I can design a personalized monthly plan with a different number of lessons. The more lessons you book at once the cheaper it is for you.
- IB math AI SL exam preparation. This monthly booking plan contains two group lessons per week and costs 333€. There are at most 6 students in one group. This is an ideal group size that maximizes the benefits of learning and teaching. There is a laser-sharp focus on preparation for the IB math AI SL exam.
- Summer groups for grades 4-8: This monthly booking plan contains two group lessons per week and costs 160€. These groups run only during summer.
- Mathematical thinking summer groups: This monthly booking plan contains two group lessons per week and costs 195€. Please note that these groups are designed for grades 9-12 and run only during the summer.
- Thesis mentoring trial: It includes a 4-page sample assessment from your thesis followed by a 20-minute trial consultation. The 4-page thesis sample is used to assess the present quality of your thesis writing. The 20-minute trial consultation includes detailed proofreading feedback. This step is also used to assess whether we are a good fit for each other. The thesis mentoring trial costs 30 €.
- Thesis mentoring session: One thesis mentoring session costs 40€ and lasts 35 minutes.
- Thesis mentoring dive: Includes two 35-minute thesis mentoring sessions and proofreading the rest of the thesis (after we have gone through the thesis trial).
- Thesis proofreading: The price depends on the quality and difficulty of the thesis. The delivery speed of the work also plays an important role. I must see a sample of 4 pages of your thesis to give you an accurate quote. All these things said the price range for proofreading is 5-7€ per page. Please note that I won’t write content for your thesis. That is unethical and immoral. Instead, I will guide you to write mathematically and scientifically so that you can be proud of the quality of your thesis. If your thesis is over 40 pages long, I will apply a 20% discount for every 10 additional pages.
- Thesis defense: One thesis defense session lasts 35 minutes and costs 40€.
Lesson cost breakdown:
- Expertise and credentials. You can surely find many tutors who are cheaper than me, especially at the school level. That is fine, I am not a good fit for those parents or adults who are racing to find the cheapest tutoring. I am a good fit for parents and adults who want effective tutoring. Not all tuition is the same. I am qualified to teach Math at all levels. I also have two Math degrees and research experience. I deliver premium Math tutoring from basic Algebra to Artificial Intelligence (yes, you read that right, AI is a common subject for math students at the master’s level). Excellent tutoring results can be delivered only if there is abundant expertise and experience to draw from. Lucky for you, I have both of them.
- Lesson preparation: A lesson that is not planned in detail is a lesson lost. I am very diligent in lesson preparation. No matter how many times I have taught a topic: it is the first time I will be teaching it to a particular student in a particular day. I tailor the lessons to my student’s needs. Preparation includes but is not limited to preparing resources, exercises, literature, etc.
Payments
The lessons should be paid for at least 24 hours before they are conducted. If this does not happen, unfortunately, I will have to cancel the lesson(s). I am a registered freelancer based in Germany. For every lesson or monthly booking, you will receive an invoice where the payment methods will be indicated explicitly.
Refund
A full refund will be issued only if the lessons are canceled at least 24 hours in advance. The reason: I have already spent time preparing for the lesson, the lesson slot has been booked for you and I will not be able to allocate another student to the same slot and prepare in time. No refund will be issued if the cancellations are made later than 24 hours in advance.
For monthly bookings
For lessons belonging to a monthly booking, the same cancelation window applies. That is, at least 24 hours before the planned time. For a canceled lesson belonging to a 4-lesson monthly booking, you will be refunded 1/4 of the value of the monthly booking. The same logic applies to monthly bookings with different numbers of lessons.
You will receive a refund for the part of the thesis I haven’t proofread. The same time window of cancellation applies here.
